Anyone else still have a house full of Peeps following Easter? Those poor little marshmallow leftovers are past even their somewhat stale crunchy stage and are just kind of hanging around at this point. So I decided it was about time to put them to good use. Peeps S’mores time!
Ever since I made the S’mores Milkshakes, I have had S’mores on my mind. So what better way to utilize a house full of sugar coated marshmallows than by making a batch of festive after-Easter Peeps S’mores?
Ingredients (makes 2 servings):
- 2 graham crackers, halved
- 1 chocolate candy bar, halved (milk or dark, I prefer dark)
- 2 Peeps
These take basically no time to assemble. To make, roast your Peeps over an open flame – I used my stove. You can also broil them in your oven, or microwave them for 20 seconds.
Split the graham crackers so that you have 4 equally sized pieces
Add each half of the chocolate bar to two of the graham cracker halves.
Top with a roasted Peep.
Top with the other halves of the graham crackers, pressing to flatten the peep, then dig in!
Peeps make an awesome upgrade to traditional s’mores! The warmth from the peeps helps to melt the chocolate bar a bit.
The sugar coating caramelizes when roasted, adding an extra boost of flavor to an already tasty treat! Making a bunch of these with different colored Peeps would be a fun thing to share with friends and family, don’t you think? Plus, it’s a great use of those leftover Peeps! You can also make these any time of year with Just Born’s other holiday-themed Peeps!
