I just received my fourth Stitch Fix box! (You can check out my previous posts here and here). I need some help deciding what to keep though. I’m so indecisive!
New to Stitch Fix? Here’s a run down on what exactly it is …
- You sign up online and fill out a Style Profile that takes about 10 minutes. It asks you everything from your height and weight, to if you prefer dresses over pants, and if you’re a mother. The profile tries to get a feeling of your style by showing you different outfit combinations and asking you to rate them as well. They also ask for your price point on different items and will try to stick within your budget. There is a section for you to write additional thoughts to further help the stylist (“I hate polka dots;” “Green is my favorite color;” etc.) and you can even link to a Pinterest board so they have a better sense of your style.
- Choose when you want your box delivered. (Right now, it looks like you have to choose it at least 6 weeks in advance.) There is an option to sign up for a monthly box if you’d like, but it is not required. A stylist will review your Style Profile as well as any comments you left on the profile and will choose five items for your box. When the box ships, you will be charged $20 for the styling. You can apply this $20 towards anything you keep from your shipment; if you choose nothing, they keep the $20 fee. Note: The boxes typically arrive 1-2 days earlier than the day you choose. For some, this may be a plus. But I personally would prefer if they would deliver on the day I requested. Because they arrive on days I’m not home, I have to find time to go to the post office to retrieve the box.
- When the box arrives, Stitch Fix strongly suggests you try on everything, even if at first look you don’t think you like one of the items. The items all come with a styling card to give you an idea of what to wear with them so you can use clothing you already own to see how the item looks as an outfit.
- You have three days to decide what you want to keep. Stitch Fix provides a pre-paid mailing bag so it’s easy to ship things back. You fill out a survey on the website with what you plan to keep, the fit/style of the item, and any additional comments you may have. As I mentioned above, if you buy anything, the $20 styling fee is applied towards your purchase. If you keep all five items, you are given a 25% discount on everything.
You can request specific items or mention an upcoming event you’d like the stylist to keep in mind when you order your box. This time around, I had asked for a maxi skirt/dress and some white denim.
Each box comes with styling cards with suggestions on how to style each item. My stylist also suggested trying to pair some of the items in the box together.
Burgos Tortoise Link Bracelet $28
Initial thought: I’m assuming I’d only keep this if I liked the four other items to get the 25% off the entire box. Does anyone else feel like the jewelry kind of “cheats” you from receiving a full box? This is actually the first box I’ve received with jewelry so I guess I can’t be that upset.
After actually seeing the bracelet, I still felt pretty “meh” about it. I don’t typically wear bracelets and this one didn’t have anything about it that I loved. It’s also a little bit big on me.

Cynthia Graphic Print Mixed Material Tank $64
Initial thought: $64 for a tank top sounds really steep. I’d have to be madly in love with this to keep it.
After seeing it, I actually do really really like it. The material is soft and stretchy, the print is nice, and it is more of a blouse than a tank top. I could easily wear this to work or with a pair of jeans on the weekend. I forgot to take a photo, but the shirt is solid black from the back. It’s kind of hard to tell in the photo, but it buttons up about half way up the shirt.

Adriann Racerback Hi-Lo Floral Dress $58
Initial thought: Um. I guess this is my “maxi” dress? Except that hi-lo and maxi are two completely different things. The price is reasonable though.
So, I was terrified that this would be an actual hi-lo. But it’s a sneaky hi-lo. And by that I mean there is an opaque shorter skirt underneath the long sheer floral skirt. (Look at the top right photo above in the collage). So when I saw it in person, I was so excited and wanted to love it. But I’m still not sure. I think it looks a little frumpy? The material is nice and light, perfect for hot summer nights. It also has a knee high slit on each side. I’m wondering if maybe a belt with it might be better? What do you think?

Ebbe 3/4 Sleeve Textured Blazer $78
Initial thought: Hmm. I do love me a blazer. I will have to see before I make a decision on this. I hope it’s in a cute color. This is the third time I am receiving a blazer in my box though.
When I was hoping for a cute color, pink was not what I was thinking. But once I tried it on, it grew on me. I also received a blouse in my last stitch fix that I’m wearing in the upper left photo that I think works really well with this blazer. Can I pull off a hot pink blazer? The material is lightweight so it would probably be a good addition to my summer wardrobe. Thoughts?

Aiden Ankle Length Skinny Jean $98
Initial thought: Woo! Hopefully white denim! Pricey, but if they fit well, it might be worth it.
THEY FIT. And I love them. I am absolutely keeping these! It amazes me that they can find jeans that fit me perfectly when I never seem to be able to. They even fit length-wise!
Status: Kept
So what do you think I should keep? I’m definitely keeping the jeans and am leaning towards the tank top and the blazer. I’m completely undecided on the dress though. Decisions decisions…
Update: I ended up keeping the whole box! After running the numbers, it ended up only costing me $5 more to keep the entire box than it would have cost me to just keep the jeans, blazer, and tank top. That 25% off really takes a chunk out of the price!
Note: I am not compensated for these posts and pay for whatever I keep with my own money. If you click on my referral link to sign up though, I receive a $25 credit towards a future Stitch Fix.

I love that hi-lo maxi dress! You should try adding a wide, brown belt to it. Maybe it wouldn’t feel so frumpy.
I’m going to request it in my next fix 🙂

That mixed tank is really cute. And I wish I could pull off white skinny jeans.
