3dried chili pepperssplit open, or 1 tablespoon red pepper flakes
2teaspoonsapple cider vinegar
Instructions
To make, add the honey and chili peppers or red pepper flakes to a pot over medium heat.
Bring to a simmer. Let simmer for 5 minutes, then remove from heat.
Let steep for 15 minutes, then taste to see if it has enough spice for your liking. If there is not enough spice, add another chili pepper or teaspoon red pepper flakes, bring to a simmer, and let cool again. If there is too much spice, add a drizzle of regular honey until you reach your desired heat level.
After 15 minutes, stir in your apple cider vinegar.
Strain the hot honey through a fine mesh sieve into your container of choice [small jars or squeeze bottles work best].
If desired, you can omit straining.
If using crushed red pepper flakes or dried chilies, you can keep your hot honey at room temperature in a container with a lid for up to three months.
