Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Line a 4×8 inch loaf pan with parchment paperletting it hang over the sides.
Add the bananas to a large mixing bowlmashing until smooth.
Stir in the butter and brown sugar. Add in the egg and almond extractmixing to combine.
Ina medium bowlstir together the flour, salt, and baking soda. Add this to the banana mixture, stirring until just combined.
Fold in the cherries and chocolate chips.
Pour the batter into your prepared loaf pan. Bake 50 to 60 minutes at 350 degrees For until a tester inserted into the center comes out clean.
Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Remove the banana bread from the pan using the parchment paper overhangand a knife, if needed.
Let cool completely. Slide and serve with fresh cherriesif desired.
